Before AZ Martinez joined the family, another familiar face helped introduce SCD to Filipinos nationwide. Actress, recording artist and long-time endorser Lovi Poe became the face of Skin Care Depot in 2022, and the partnership has been renewed ever since.
For a brand that started with a single papaya soap in Olongapo City, signing a name like Lovi Poe was a turning point. It marked the moment SCD stopped being a regional favourite and started becoming a national one.
It Started in 2022
SCD had been growing steadily since 2016, built out of a small operation in Olongapo City into a brand with a following across the Philippines. In 2022, founder and CEO Gracee M. Angeles brought Lovi Poe on board as celebrity endorser.
Choosing an endorser is never only about reach. For SCD it has always meant finding someone whose values genuinely match the brand — someone Filipinas already trust, and whose own story says something about confidence.
Lovi fit that from the beginning.
A Surprise in Baguio
On February 23, 2023, Lovi joined the crowds at the Panagbenga Flower Festival in Baguio City, where her continued partnership with SCD was announced to spectators.
It was a fitting place for it. Panagbenga is one of the country's best-loved festivals, and SCD has always been a brand rooted outside Metro Manila — built in the provinces, sold through partners and authorized sellers across the country. Announcing it there, in front of that crowd, said something about who the brand is for.
Renewed in 2024
In May 2024, Lovi renewed her contract with SCD, marking her second year as brand ambassador.
Looking forward to more products and more projects with Lovi Poe.
— Gracee M. Angeles, SCD CEO
Renewals matter more than launches. Anyone can announce a new face. Keeping one for years means the working relationship is real.
Why the Partnership Works
Lovi has spoken openly about the criticism she faced early in her career, including comments about her skin colour, her body, and her acting. In a 2024 interview she said those insecurities never fully disappear — but that she chose to treat criticism as something to learn from rather than something to prove wrong.
That outlook sits very close to what SCD has always been about.
Our products are made to help skin look brighter, smoother and healthier. But the reason customers come back is rarely only the product. It is how they feel using it — the small daily routine, the sense of taking care of yourself, the confidence that follows.
Skincare can be part of how we care for ourselves. Confidence is the part that lasts.
What Lovi Brought to SCD
An endorsement introduces a brand to people who have never heard of it. For SCD, Lovi opened doors — wider recognition, more conversations, more Filipinas discovering that a homegrown brand from Olongapo could sit alongside the names they already knew.
It also raised the bar internally. Representing the brand well means the products have to keep earning it.
The SCD Family Keeps Growing
From Lovi Poe in 2022 to AZ Martinez in 2025, SCD continues to work with Filipinas who reflect what the brand stands for: authenticity, everyday confidence, and skincare that real people can actually afford.
Different generations, different careers, the same idea — that beauty should feel personal and approachable, never out of reach.
